giggles from a toddler

my oldest daughter has quite a mind of her own these days. i have started a few journal entries in the past year or so with some of the funny things she has talked about, but the pages are always left unfinished. since there have been a series of them in the past couple days, i'm going to try to kepp track of them on our blog. hopefully her bright little mind can bring some laughter to your day!

august 26- it's saturday afternoon and maya has just had a potty 'accident' for the first time in a couple months. when we asked her why she went pee-pee in her panties, she replies with "i don't know, mommy- i guess i'll have to try better to keep them dry..."

august 25- we are driving in the car and ava falls asleep in her carseat. i say, "maya, can you not press the buttons on your book right now because your sister is resting". she says "thats right, mommy- i'll be quiet because ava needs her beauty rest"

august 24- while i am brushing my teeth in the morning, maya is going through my bathroom drawer. she takes out my face powder and make-up brush and says, "mommy, can i put some bologna on my face, too?"

august 23- we are driving home in the car around lunch time and we happen to see 2 deer crossing the street in front of us (in the middle of the day--- very random). I say, "Maya- look at the deer!" She says, "Ooooooo, Mommy! Look, Look! I see 2 reindeer! That must mean Santa is here!"

from last winter (mind you she had just turned 2):

While watching Sesame Street last weekend, the Spanish words of the day were “pequeno” and “grande”. I say “Maya, can you say “grande”? She says…. “Grande skim mocha!”

“ummmm….wait a second, mommy”

While eating her lunch today, Maya was spreading yogurt over each of her crackers. When I asked he what she was doing, she replied with “making toast, mommy”!
